Rapé (pronounced hapé) is a sacred snuff powder originating from the depths of the Amazon rainforest. This ancient shamanic mixture is made from Nicotiana rustica tobacco (known as mapacho) and crushed leaves, bark, ash, and herbs, which together create a unique energy charge. Rapé is traditionally blown into the nostrils using a special tube – either alone (kuripe) or in pairs (tepi) – and is used to clear the mind, ground oneself, open the heart, or achieve deep calm before rituals or meditation.
Each type of rapé has its own character – from gently stimulating to dreamy and relaxing to strongly spiritual. We bring you a selection of unique blends from authentic tribes such as the Yawanawá, Nukini, and Kanamari. Made with respect, by hand, and with a deep connection to the spirit of the plants.
🧘♂️ Why and when to use rapé?
- 🌬️ Calming the mind – quickly interrupts the flow of thoughts, ideal before meditation
- 🌿 Energetic cleansing – releases stagnant emotions and tension in the body
- 🔥 Grounding – helps to return to the present, „to the body“
- 🌀 Enhancing inner insight – opens perception and intuition
- 💫 Supporting ceremonies – used in combination with other medicines (e.g., ayahuasca)
- 💭 Connection with oneself – helps to recognize what we really feel and need
- 🌄 Natural awakening – some blends (e.g., Guayusa) act as a gentle, natural stimulant
🧴 Note: Rapé is a powerful substance. Use it with respect, calmly, and preferably with a clear intention.
