Using a natural mountain water process (MWP), the caffeine is removed from Puro coffee. This process involves immersing the green coffee beans in pure glacial water from Pico de Orizaba, the highest volcano in North America. The result is a coffee that is 99.9% decaffeinated but still retains a full-bodied flavour with subtle notes of caramel and nuts.
MOUNTAIN WATER PROCESS
- The beans are immersed in water, allowing the oils and caffeine to separate.
- The water is then filtered to remove the caffeine.
- The oils that are soluble in the water are then returned to the beans.
