Useful properties:

  1. Antidepressant. Since ancient times, anchan has been used in Asia as a means to relieve stress and anxiety.
  1. A means for weight loss. The main character-a fighter against excess weight in the composition of blue tea is the antioxidant EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate), which enhances the process of burning calories, speeding up metabolism.
  1. Natural paracetamol. If you have a fever, but you do not want to use pharmacological drugs, try to brew anchan. The results of a scientific study conducted in India in 2004 showed that blue tea has antipyretic properties and has an effect similar to that of paracetamol.
  1. Benefits for the eyes. Among many other useful antioxidants, the flowers of the clitoris also contain proanthocyanidin, which is responsible for increasing blood flow to the capillaries of the eyes. This makes blue tea effective in the treatment of retinal damage, glaucoma or blurred vision.
  1. Help for diabetics. In 2015, scientists found out that anchan is effective for people with diabetes: it has been proven that drinking even one cup of decoction of the clitoris between meals regulates sugar levels and lowers blood glucose. Blue tea prevents excessive absorption of glucose from food and, therefore, helps to control blood sugar levels.
  1. Benefits for the heart. Studies have shown that blue tea is effective in reducing high cholesterol levels – the main risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. It protects against heart disease by preventing hyperlipidemia (abnormally high concentration of lipids or fats in the blood).
  1. Anti-aging effect. Our skin shows signs of aging as a result of a protein-damaging process called glycation. Anchan has anti-glycating properties, which allows you to keep your skin young for longer. In addition, flavonoids (including quercetin) contained in blue tea increase the level of collagen, strengthening hair and skin cells and maintaining hydration in the cells of the epidermis.

As you may have already understood, anchan contains a huge amount of antioxidants, each of which has its own positive effect on our body. This is the only tisane (vegetable drink), the level of antioxidants of which is comparable to the level of green tea. At the same time, blue tea does not contain caffeine.

How to cook:

  1. One or two teaspoons per 250 ml of water 85-90C.
  1. Infuse for 3-10 minutes, depending on the desired degree of saturation of the infusion. Anchan can withstand 2-3 infusions.
  1. In Thailand, it is drunk not only hot, but also cold, lime is often added (then the color will change from bright blue to purple), ginger, mint, cinnamon, lemongrass.
