About Borneo kratom
Borneo denotes not a strain but an origin. Specifically the Indonesian part of the island, Kalimantan, which is the main kratom-producing region in the world today. Most of our leaf comes from here.
"Borneo" on its own therefore does not decide which powder you get - that is set by the strain and the colour. From Borneo we carry Maeng Da (in three colours and as an extract), Rurut in a nano grind and Elephant in white; each has its own page and its own reports.

Borneo: where the leaf comes from and what we carry from here
Where Borneo is and why kratom grows here
Borneo is the world's third-largest island; most of it is the Indonesian Kalimantan. The humid equatorial climate, rainforests and branching river lowlands are the natural home of the Mitragyna speciosa tree (where kratom grows), which grows here both wild and on plantations and, thanks to the warmth, is harvested year-round. The country's role in production today is covered in Indonesia as a kratom supplier.
Why most kratom is grown here today
Kratom's historical home is southern Thailand, but it was banned there for decades (1943-2021), so the centre of cultivation and export shifted to Indonesia, chiefly to Kalimantan (Kratom in Thailand). Most of both the global and our own range now comes from here - where exactly a given batch is from is stated with the product.
Which of our strains come from Borneo
The Borneo origin is shared, but the strains differ in the leaf-selection principle. Maeng Da is a grade selection of more mature leaf (we carry it green, white and red, and as the only extract). Elephant is a selection by leaf size, carried in white. Rurut is a local name from West Kalimantan and the only nano grind in the range. Regional strains from elsewhere - Sumatra and Thai kratom - are not from Borneo.
What is in the leaf and what the report says
Borneo leaf is still Mitragyna speciosa, a tree of the coffee family (Rubiaceae), a botanical relative of coffee. It holds more than forty alkaloids; the main one is mitragynine, alongside smaller amounts of 7-hydroxymitragynine, speciogynine and paynantheine. The origin on its own does not set how much of them a powder holds - that is measured by the accredited VŠCHT Prague laboratory for every batch by HPLC, along with purity, microbiology and heavy metals (how to read a COA). A seller may not state effects; the only wording about them is the mandatory information on the pack.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Common questions
Short answers to what people most often ask about Borneo origin.
Is "Borneo" a kratom strain?
No. Borneo is an origin - an island whose Indonesian part (Kalimantan) is the main producing region. Which powder you get is decided by the strain and the colour, not by Borneo itself.
Which of your strains come from Borneo?
Maeng Da (green, white, red and the extract), Rurut in a nano grind and Elephant in white. Sumatra and Thai kratom come from elsewhere. Each strain has its own page with reports.
Is Kalimantan the same as Borneo?
Kalimantan is the Indonesian part of the island of Borneo, and in practice it is where kratom labelled "Borneo" comes from. The island is shared by Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei, but kratom production is mainly on the Indonesian side.
Is Borneo kratom stronger?
Origin on its own does not set "strength" - that means the alkaloid content of a specific batch, which only the COA shows. Stating effects by origin is not allowed by law; compare the figures in the reports, not the labels.
